You break it, You bought it

A couple years ago I had my Suzuki Intruder up for sale. A guy I worked with was thinking about getting into motorcycles, so he thought he would check it out. At this time he had never driven a motorcycle before. He wanted to get a feel for it, so he asked if he could start it and move it forward about 10 feet to the parking curb. I didn’t see any harm in this request. Nothing bad can come of it if he just moves it forward a few feet and remain in first gear right? Wrong. He popped the clutch and went flying. I don’t believe I have ever seen a more terrified expression on anyone’s face before or since that day. It was truly hilarious. As you can see, he put the motorcycle into the wall of one of the garages in the apartment complex where I was living at the time. I took some pictures of the bike and my friends that helped pull it out of the wall. It was not easy to do.Gabe refused to have his picture taken, I think mainly out of embarrassment. Anyway, he was a good sport. He bought the bike, fixed it up, grew out of it shortly, and traded it in for another bike.

This High

I’m on a roll! I just received a request from a good friend of mine to stand up another website. He designed it, and I built it. It’s fairly simple, but still attractive. This website features some of my friend’s acoustical and vocal talents. Not all links are working at this point in time because I haven’t received all the MP3s to put on the site. I’m not sure if he wants to stay anonymous or not; therefore, I haven’t identified who he is in this post. Anyway, I started building this at about 9pm and finally completed it and had it up on the web by 12:30am. Check it out this high

MOREtc Website Launched

Today I launched Make Over Renovations, Etc . I built this website using the foundation of my “LAMPSlight” web-content management system. MOREtc is a local “do-all” construction company that I work with on my houses. My friends at MOREtc are responsible for adding their own content using the admin functionality, but I wouldn’t expect that to be done right away. The overall design and graphics are both another wonderful creation by Ben Gremillion . This is the first iteration of this site, so if you see any errors or bugs, please let me know.

You Suck! And I like it!

Dysone D07 Animal

After seeing the commercials over and over again for the
Dyson vacuum cleaner I was very curious to see how accurate all the claims were. I was visiting my friends the Hammacks’ and they had recently purchased a Dyson animal. They seemed to be pretty happy with their new vacuum. What better testimony than that of your friends?

I picked one up today at the local Home Depot and gave it a whirl. My wife and I vacuumed all the carpeted rooms in our big house in preparation for selling. The carpets were hardly lived on and were spotless when we moved out. After going over the carpet with our new vacuum and watching the dirt, hair, and whatever else accumulate in the canister, we were absolutely amazed. You would think that they had never been vacuumed before. This vacuum is worth every dime we spent on it.

Meet the Carters

My wife and I met our long time friends Jeremy & Lisa Carter in Fredericksburg, TX today. Joining them was their three year old son and four month old daughter. It was a beautiful day to take a drive through the hill country. We ate at a German restaurant on the far side of town (something with ā€œbeer gartenā€in the name) . Afterwards we sampled wine next door at the Fredericksburg Winery . Then we enjoyed an afternoon in the park. We got plenty of sun; I now look like a lobster.
